“Kohli Responds Defiantly to ‘Strike-Rate’ Critics Ahead of T20 World Cup”

Virat Kohli had a strong response to critics questioning his recent strike rates and ability to play spin. Following his knock of 51 off 43 balls against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL, where he had a strike rate of 118.60, Kohli silenced his critics with an unbeaten 70* off 44 balls against Gujarat Titans, batting at a strike rate of 159.09.

In the post-match interview, Kohli addressed the criticism, emphasizing that his focus is on winning games for his team. He highlighted his track record of consistently delivering for his teams over the years.

Before the Titans match, Kohli had struggled against spin in the IPL, scoring only 38 runs off 37 balls in the Powerplay. However, he showcased his dominance against spin during the match, particularly against Sai Kishore, hitting him for two consecutive sixes.

Kohli dismissed the critics’ opinions, suggesting that those who have experienced playing at the highest level understand the game better. He emphasized that his performance is a result of years of experience and muscle memory.

Against the Titans, Kohli scored 61 runs off 34 balls against a formidable spin attack, including Rashid Khan and Sai Kishore, at a strike rate of 179.41. He utilized the sweep shot effectively, a stroke he is not often seen employing.

Kohli’s impressive performances have made him the leading run-scorer in the IPL and have positioned him as a key player for India in the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, where he will make his sixth appearance at the prestigious tournament.
