“Tanzania and Kuwait Earn Challenge League Spots with Super Six Triumphs”

In Kuala Lumpur, Mohammad Aslam’s Kuwait and emerging African power Tanzania secured their Cricket World Cup Challenge League privileges with convincing wins over Vanuatu and Bermuda, respectively, at the Play-off.

Kuwait demonstrated dominance with the bat at the Selangor Turf Club, led by Ravija Sandaruwan’s quickfire 55 runs from 33 balls and Meet Bhavsar’s impressive second consecutive century, scoring 132 off 139 balls. Kuwait posted a formidable total of 360/4, with Aslam contributing an unbeaten 82 off 53 balls. The Kuwaiti bowlers, spearheaded by Shahrukh Quddus and Sayed Monib, then restricted Vanuatu to secure their place in the Challenge League with a comfortable victory.

On the other hand, Tanzania overpowered Bermuda in their match. Despite a promising start from Bermuda, Tanzania took control with their bowling attack, reducing Bermuda from 74/0 to 112 all out. Laksh Bakrania and Kassim Nassoro were instrumental with the ball, claiming four wickets each to dismantle the Bermudian batting lineup.

Meanwhile, Bahrain and Italy clashed in a crucial match, with both teams vying for a top-four finish. Bahrain’s bowlers, led by Rizwan Butt and Ali Dawood, restricted Italy to 218 all out. In response, Bahrain chased down the target assertively, with contributions from Prashant Kurup, Haider Ali Butt, and Ahmer Bin Nasir. Despite Italy’s efforts, Bahrain emerged victorious, positioning themselves well for a top-four finish in the tournament.

The Play-off action continues with upcoming matches featuring Vanuatu against Bermuda, Bahrain against Kuwait, and Tanzania against Italy. All matches are available for live streaming on ICC.tv.
